The “Egyptian-Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, Concentrates, and Grain Trading” aims to to increase its turnover to 11 billion pounds this year, achieving growth of between 10 and 15% for its pasta, flour, sauce, and grain products, as part of its celebration of World Pasta Day.
Engineer Ahmed Al-Sibai, the group’s general manager, said during a press conference held by the company to celebrate World Pasta Day and announce the launch of a new product line that “Egyptian-Swiss” currently exports its products to about 60 countries and allocates nearly 80% of its total production to foreign markets, while accounting for about 10% of Egypt’s pasta exports and 15% of its flour exports.
He added that the group, which is celebrating more than 30 years since its founding, has succeeded in building an integrated industrial system ranging from grain trading, wheat milling, and flour production to the manufacturing of pasta, tomato sauce, concentrates, and sauces, thereby enhancing its ability to diversify its products and markets and cope with fluctuations in demand.
He explained that the group began its operations in the flour trade before expanding into milling and pasta production, followed by tomato products and sauces, taking advantage of the integration of its manufacturing and distribution operations. He noted that diversifying its operations helped the company weather the challenges posed by exchange rate fluctuations, the Russia-Ukraine war, and global market turmoil.
