The Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its establishment, marking one of the most prominent success stories in Egypt’s industrial sector. The journey began with limited resources and simple flour trading led by the Lawendy family, before transforming—through determination, planning, and continuous effort—into a major industrial powerhouse in the fields of milling, pasta, and concentrates across the Middle East.
The group has succeeded in capturing approximately 15% of Egypt’s flour exports and 10% of pasta exports, becoming a national model for an export-oriented industry capable of competing globally.
Hany Lawendy, Chairman of the Egyptian Swiss Group, stated that celebrating 30 years since its founding represents the harvest of a long journey filled with hard work and challenges, emphasizing that the group’s success is the result of a clear vision and a genuine belief in manufacturing and sustainable expansion.
He added that the major turning point came with the group’s entry into manufacturing in 2003 through the establishment of its first mill in partnership in Assiut, followed by the founding of Egyptian Swiss Milling in 2005. This was followed by a strategic decision to establish the Alexandria mill in 2007, expansion in 10th of Ramadan City in 2010, the inauguration of the pasta factory in 2013, and the establishment of the group’s second mill within the same industrial complex in 2018.
