The Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates announced its expansion into 13 new markets this year, bringing the total number of countries reached by the Group’s products to over 60 worldwide. This comes as part of a plan aimed at boosting exports and diversifying foreign markets, with plans to enter the Chinese market in the coming period.
Eng. Ahmed El-Sebaei, General Manager of the Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates, revealed that the new expansions included the Group’s various products, such as pasta, flour, and tomato paste. These expansions spanned markets in Europe, Africa, Asia, North America, and Latin America, thereby enhancing the geographical footprint of its exports and reducing reliance on a limited number of markets.
El-Sebaei stated that the Group succeeded in introducing its tomato paste products to the markets of Romania, Greece, France, and Zambia for the first time. This step aims to increase the global presence of the concentrates and tomato paste sector, in parallel with expanding the export of value-added products.
He added that flour exports also witnessed an expansion this year, with the Group’s products entering the Comoros market. This falls within a strategy aimed at enhancing penetration within the African continent, which represents one of the primary markets for Egyptian food products, particularly flour and pasta.
He noted that the pasta sector captured the largest share of the new markets, as the Group successfully exported to eight additional countries: Sweden, South Africa, Indonesia, Canada, Cuba, Cameroon, Mali, and Bahrain.
El-Sebaei explained that the diversification of these new markets across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas reflects the Group’s direction over the past five years toward building a more widespread and diversified export base. This approach helps enhance the company’s ability to navigate the shifts occurring in global markets and international trade movements.
He emphasized that the Group has intensified its focus on exports in recent years, expanding its presence in a large number of markets across Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. In doing so, it has leveraged the competitiveness of Egyptian products and their ability to meet the diverse specifications and requirements of foreign markets.
