In a step to enhance legislative awareness within industrial strongholds, the Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates hosted an extensive introductory seminar on the “New Labor Law,” in cooperation with the Sharqia Governorate Labor Directorate, with the participation of representatives from 35 industrial companies in 10th of Ramadan City.
Workers’ Rights and Safety Guarantees
The seminar provided a detailed explanation of the most prominent amendments in the new law. Dr. Shaimaa Farid, Technical Supervisor at the 10th of Ramadan Labor Zone, reviewed the clauses concerning medical care and sick leave, as well as the mechanisms for balancing operational requirements with the protection of workers’ rights to ensure job stability within labor-intensive facilities.
In a related context, Chemist Sayed Abdel Moneim, from the Occupational Health and Safety Office, emphasized the new regulations concerning physical and mechanical hazards. He affirmed the law’s obligation for facility owners to provide comprehensive protection for workers, in addition to mechanisms for the safe disposal of industrial waste in accordance with environmental requirements.
The Human Element is the Foundation of Production
For his part, Eng. Ahmed El-Sebaei, General Manager of the Egyptian Swiss Group, emphasized that the Group’s commitment to implementing the new law goes beyond mere legislative compliance to cementing a culture of safety as an integral part of its corporate identity. He stated: “We believe that the human element is the fundamental pillar for the success of our organization, and we continuously work on updating risk registers and training our personnel to ensure a safe and stable work environment.”
