The Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates Participates in Damascus International Fair 2025, Held from August 27 to September 5 under the Theme “Syria Welcomes the World”
A Strategic Participation to Enhance Cooperation with Syria
Eng. Ahmed El-Sebaey, General Manager of the Group, stated that this participation comes with government support and presidential directives, reflecting Egypt’s commitment to strengthening the presence of national industries in Arab markets and maximizing trade exchange with Syria as one of the promising markets for Egyptian exports.
El-Sebaey pointed out that government support for Egypt’s participation in the fair covered around 90% of the total cost, which facilitates the promotion of Egyptian products and grants them a strong competitive edge in the Syrian market.
He further explained that the presidential directives to maximize trade exchange with the Syrian market highlight the political leadership’s keenness to boost economic cooperation with Syria during this stage.
Egyptian Product Quality and Expansion Opportunities
For his part, Ahmed Abdel Rahman, Logistics Manager at the Egyptian Swiss Group, noted that this step represents a strategic launch to open new horizons for Egyptian food industry products. He explained that the Group is showcasing its range of products, including pasta, flour, and concentrates, which have already proven their ability to compete in global markets thanks to their high quality and competitive prices.
Abdel Rahman added that the fair serves as a key platform for direct engagement with the Syrian business community, including distributors and importers, which contributes to building new partnerships and expanding export channels.
He also highlighted that Egyptian food industry exports witnessed an unprecedented boom, surpassing $6 billion in 2024, marking a 21% increase compared to the previous year, with Arab countries accounting for around 54% of these exports.
