Eng. Ahmed El-Sebaey, General Manager of the Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates, participated as a speaker in the 35th Annual IAOM Conference for the Middle East and Africa, held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from December 1 to 4. His participation represents an important step highlighting Egypt’s pivotal role in the global grain trade.

During his speech at the conference sessions, El-Sebaey noted that the participation comes at a time of profound changes in the international market, making technical dialogue among global companies essential to enhance industry stability and develop risk management mechanisms.

He stated that the conference discussed structural transformations in the grain market, changes in supply chains, fluctuations in global prices, and their direct impact on the milling and food processing sector in the region.

El-Sebaey also pointed out that the grain market in the Middle East and Africa is currently in a sensitive phase, requiring companies to adopt new preparedness measures amid rising shipping and insurance costs and climate changes affecting the volume and quality of crops in exporting markets.

He added that the milling sector, as one of the most important strategic food industries, now needs to adopt advanced risk management tools, diversify suppliers, and improve storage systems to continue meeting growing demand and ensure the quality of the final product for consumers.
