“egyptian swiss” Participates in the 2026 Russian Global Grains and Pulses Forum and Confirms the Importance of Partnership with Moscow

The egyptian swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates participated in the 2026 Russian World Grain and Pulses Forum, held on January 26–27, with high-level participation from agriculture ministers, government officials, leading global grain trading companies, representatives of international organizations, and agricultural market experts.

egyptian swiss’s participation in this prominent international event reflects its commitment to maintaining an active presence on global dialogue platforms focused on grain markets and food security, while reinforcing its role as a key partner in Egypt’s food industry—especially amid the rapid changes affecting global wheat, corn, and soybean trade.

Eng. Ahmed El Sebaie, General Manager of the egyptian swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates, stated that the forum is one of the leading platforms for discussing the future of grain and pulse markets. He highlighted that the event was organized under the auspices of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, with participation from top Russian producers and exporters, alongside leading international buyers, including Egypt.

El Sebaie added that Egypt’s strong presence at such events reflects the country’s significant weight in the global grain market as one of the world’s largest wheat importers, emphasizing that maintaining stable strategic relations with Russia remains a top priority given its pivotal role as the largest wheat supplier to the Egyptian market.

During his speech at the conference, he noted that wheat remains the most sensitive commodity in Egypt’s food security system. He pointed out that Russia accounted for approximately 59% of Egypt’s wheat imports in 2025, highlighting the importance of continued coordination and cooperation with the Russian side to ensure stable supplies and balanced prices amid geopolitical challenges and global supply chain fluctuations.

He further explained that the meeting between the Head of the Egypt Future Authority, Major General Bahaa El-Ghanem, and the Russian Minister of Agriculture, along with top Russian grain exporters, to discuss registering Russian companies on the Unified Strategic Commodities Procurement Platform is a positive step toward regulating imports and ensuring transparency.
