Ahmed El Sebaei, General Manager of the Egyptian Swiss Group, which specializes in grinding, pasta and concentrates, said that Egypt annually consumes more than one million tons of pasta, and has witnessed increasing growth in consumption rates in recent years with changing purchasing habits.
He added that the Egyptian pasta product is exported in large quantities and is witnessing annual growth in exports, especially to African countries, as Egypt’s pasta exports during the past year amounted to about 160 thousand tons of pasta, noting that the volume of pasta production may reach about 1.5 million tons annually. This celebration was organized by the group on the occasion of World Pasta Day, which falls on October 25 of each year.
