Cairo – Damascus | The Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates is participating in the Damascus International Fair 2025, taking place from August 27 to September 5 under the theme “Syria Welcomes the World.” The participation comes within the framework of Egypt’s strategy to strengthen trade exchange with Syria and support national food industries.
Eng. Ahmed El-Sebaey, General Manager of the Group, confirmed that the participation is guided by presidential directives and supported by the government, which covers about 90% of the cost. This, he explained, provides Egyptian products with a strong competitive advantage in the Syrian market and reflects the state’s commitment to boosting economic cooperation with Damascus.
Ahmed Abdel Rahman, Logistics Manager of the Group, noted that this participation represents a strategic launch for Egyptian food industries, with the Group showcasing its portfolio of pasta, flour, and concentrates—products that have already proven their competitiveness globally thanks to high quality and competitive pricing.
He further explained that the fair serves as a key platform for direct engagement with Syrian distributors and importers, opening the door to building new partnerships and expanding export channels.
In the same context, Mahmoud Fahmy, Export Manager of the Group, emphasized that the Syrian market represents a golden opportunity for Egyptian products, given the similarity of dietary habits between the two peoples and the geographical proximity between both countries. He stressed that supporting participation in such exhibitions quickly translates into higher export volumes.
